Flying Dutchman Path Racer

A Path Racer, Road-Path, or Road-Track is a bicycle designed for road and track cycling. Path is the old-fashioned Victorian/Edwardian cycling term for track. Path Racers are characterized by high bottom bracket, small tire clearance, and no brake mounts. A Path Racer is a bike with track ends that was originally designed for track racing. They may have a top tube which slopes downward from seat tube to head. There are less extreme versions designed as sporty road machines where the angles are not quite as steep and bottom bracket lower than a pure path (track bike.) They run on 28 inch or 26 inch wheels.

While cruising around the world wide web, one evening I came across a site with a picture and link to the  Pashley Gov'nor, a wonderful reproduction of their 1930s Path Racer and was instantly in lust.

I am currently working on several ideas for different variations of this classic beauty, a single speed, a three speed internal and a five speed with rear derailleur, while still maintaining the classic look. I will post more when I have something substantial together.
